Born to die?
More than 10 million female births in India may have been lost to abortion and sex selection in the past 20 years, according to medical research. I was alarmed to hear this number because I thought or maybe I assumed that the number of female foeticide has gone down significantly over the years. But apparently, despite the rising literacy and booming growth rates, female infanticide, foeticide and every other form of female infant genocide in India still seems to be prevalent.
