It is natural to feel deflated when your best isn't good enough.

Mind over Heart?

“So, when is your turn, eh? When do we get the good news?”

“Any luck finding that special someone?”

“Oh, how are you and random guy doing? I heard you guys are together.” (Really? Surely, I should have known that?)

You get the picture, don't you? I am so sick and tired of listening to such questions, that lately, I have started to think it is actually better that someone else pick out a person for me. I have also started devising a theory which makes me believe/want to believe what I think.

I thought I was much more attached to my parents and sister than to friends because we are related by blood. How do I then explain why I don't feel the same for relatives even though they are related to me? Maybe spending time with anyone would help me accept the person the way they are.

A person who goes in for an “arranged” marriage, is fully aware of this and knows that there might be things he/she doesn't like about the other person but has to still accept the fact that they would be together forever.

Now, a person who believes in “love”, listens to his heart more than his mind, thinks the world is a fairy tale and that everything will work out when he/she is in “love”. And even if he/she meets someone whom they like and who likes them (which is a rare feat in itself, I must say), there are other factors that could weigh down their world of perfect love.

Now knowing this, what seems more sensibe, ha?

There you go. Nice theory. Clearly, “arranged” is the way to go.
- says the mind.

Yadda Yadda Yadda.
- says my heart.

PS – I really empathize with people who had the patience to read this post till the very end.

The Gods must be crazy.

They made me write this.

Off timing

Remember the time you wanted something so bad that you thought you wouldnt be able to live without it?

Remember the pain and frustration and hours of relentless despair when you didnt get what you wanted?

Remember the perplexity when later you get the same thing but dont want it anymore or have lost interest?

Yea exactly.
